One of the strong desires of the elected officials from the four communes that are EHT shareholders is to leverage the consolidation of the Haute Tarentaise electricity utilities to make this new structure an effective vehicle for deploying renewable energies (RE) in Tarentaise and developing local RE production.
Naturally, the focus is on hydroelectric production, given our mountainous territory and its numerous torrents. We already have two operational facilities, a project expected to be commissioned in 2027, and several other projects currently under study.
Nevertheless, we are not overlooking other RE sources. We already operate 2 photovoltaic power plants and wish to accelerate in this area.
Other avenues of exploration are underway: geothermal energy, hydrogen, battery electricity storage…
