Understand and pay my bill

EHT - ENERGIES HAUTE TARENTAISE

My Bill

Once each meter reading is taken, every four months, you will receive a bill indicating the quantity of electricity used.

The tariff chosen upon subscription or recent contract modification determines the billed amount.

What do I pay?

  • The bill consists of a fixed component (the subscription fee) and a variable component (proportional to the quantity of energy consumed)
  • The amount of my bill is the sum of the price of energy supply, its grid access, and taxes and contributions
  • Regardless of my supplier and my electricity offer, the price always consists of these 3 elements.

Understanding the taxes

For electricity, 3 taxes apply:

The CTA (Tariff Contribution for Grid Access): it applies to the fixed components of the energy delivery portion (transmission + distribution) and is collected by all electricity and natural gas suppliers. This contribution is paid to the National Fund for Electrical and Gas Industries. Established on January 1, 2005, and initially included in the fixed premium amount. This tax has been a dedicated line item on bills since August 15, 2009. Its rate has been set at 21.93% since August 1, 2021.

The TICFE (Internal Tax on Final Electricity Consumption): it is calculated based on the quantity of energy consumed in kWh. It is collected by all energy suppliers on behalf of the municipalities.

Since February 1, 2024, the TICFE/CSPE amount is set at €0.021/kWh.

VAT (Value Added Tax) with 2 rates:

  • 5.5%: it applies to the ex-tax amount of the subscription and to the CTA.
  • 20%: it applies to the amount of consumption, as well as to the TICFE.
